2025 Hopes and Expectations
Williams welcomes Carlos Sainz for the 2025 season, signing the Spaniard to a two-year deal after his four-year stint at Ferrari. Sainz reportedly turned down offers from Alpine and Kick Sauber to join the team. Williams hopes Sainz will bring the consistency they lacked with Logan Sargeant, who struggled to score points and was out-qualified 13-0 by teammate Alexander Albon.
With Albon continuing to mature and improve, the team aims to secure more points and surpass their 9th-place finish in last year’s standings. Team principal James Vowles revealed in August that the 2025 car has undergone extensive wind tunnel testing, which they hope will enable a stronger start—unlike last season, where they failed to score points until the Monaco Grand Prix, the 8th race.
Bold prediction
With an improved car and Sainz’s consistency, Williams climbs to 7th in the standings, the position they achieved in 2017.
