NASCAR Chicago Street Race and All Kids Bike Surprise Chicago Public Schools Students with Donation

Press Release | CHICAGO STREET RACE

CHICAGO (Nov. 28, 2023) – The NASCAR Chicago Street Race and The NASCAR Foundation unveiled a special holiday bike donation at Ogden Elementary School, in continuation of their ongoing partnership with the national non-profit All Kids Bike and Chicago Public Schools. To date, NASCAR has donated more than $48,000 in bikes, helmets, online curriculum, and training equipment to eight Chicago Public Schools through All Kids Bike.

“NASCAR is a part of the Chicago community 365-days a year, and we are proud to continue our partnership with All Kids Bike to bring the joy of speed to Chicago Public Schools students this holiday season,” said Julie Giese, President, NASCAR Chicago Street Race. “We may have the next generation of racers right here in Chicago, so we’re thrilled to help them get their start on two wheels.”

All Kids Bike is a national Learn-to-Ride program designed to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten physical education classes. In April, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race and The NASCAR Foundation were joined by NASCAR Cup Series driver Harrison Burton at Brian Piccolo Elementary School to unveil a fleet of Strider Balance Bikes.

“Throughout the year, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race and The NASCAR Foundation have been invaluable partners in helping us get kids across Chicago moving,” said Lisa Weyer, Executive Director of All Kids Bike. “By teaching bike riding at the entry-level in a public school system, we are able to establish a positive foundation for a lifetime of riding.”

The All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program boasts an inclusive, proven Learn-To-Ride curriculum that offers every child the opportunity to experience the joy of two wheels. For more information, visit AllKidsBike.org.

“The NASCAR Foundation is committed to helping foster healthy communities in every city in which we race – including the great city of Chicago,” said Nichole Krieger, The NASCAR Foundation Vice President & Executive Director. “We are grateful to partner with organizations like All Kids Bike and Chicago Public Schools who truly understand the importance of getting kids moving.”
