Despite coming into 2025 as the defending Top Fuel champion, Antron Brown is just as motivated as ever. I had the chance to ask Antron Brown about his mindset coming into the season.
He explained, “You know how people say they want to win? I show you how I want to win on race day. People say I want to win all the time. They don’t want to put in the work."
Brown went on to share some details about his relationship with Shawn Reed.
“Shawn Reed is my understudy and I told him that last year. He said, “AB I want to win" he told me he was waiting for his guy to build a simulator. I said "I have one right in my trailer, why aren’t you in there on it right now?”"
Brown plans to let his performance behind the wheel do the talking.
He continued, “I’m a person of action and I like to let my actions speak on what I want to do. I can guarantee you if you ask anyone who follows the NHRA tour 24/7, you can see me kissing babies and shaking hands but when I put my helmet on, I’m like Gladiator, because I’m trying to bring death to the competition, and that never changes. I don’t care who you are or what kind of car we’re racing. We could race big wheels and it could be a seven-year-old girl. I’m not giving her false hope. I’m taking her to the cleaners."
